This incident is from Nhavare village of Shirur tehsil of Pune district. Police have registered a case under IPC sections 307 and 354 against unknown persons.
According to the police, the victim had gone to the toilet on Wednesday night when an unknown person grabbed her from behind and started forcing her.
When the woman retaliated, she attacked her and removed one of her eyes. After the woman made noise, the people of the area came there and the injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Taking the matter seriously, Pune Rural SP Abhinav Deshmukh visited the spot along with his team. Sections 307 and 354 of IPC have been registered against unknown persons at Shirur police station. The police has started searching for the unknown accused.
The police are also searching to see if there is any enmity behind the cruelty of the victim. People are being questioned in Pune rural area. At the same time, criminals who are out on parole and furlough from jail are also being questioned.
